Don't Miss

And with the 14th Pick the Cowboys select…

After falling to the New York Giants 31 – 14 and  losing both the NFC East Title and a playoff berth, the Dallas Cowboys will now have the 14th selection in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft in April.

On Monday January 2nd, the Dallas Cowboys conducted their exit interviews with Head Coach Jason Garrett and all the players and will now begin to focus on both Player and Coach evaluations.

With the 14th pick, the Dallas Cowboys will most likely focus on defense as they spent their first pick in 2011 Draft on OT Tyron Smith from USC.  The biggest area of weakness for the Cowboys is their secondary and will focus on a Cornerback or Safety.

After the new collective bargaining agreement the Cowboys focused on revamping the offensive line by releasing veterans Andre Gurode, Marc Columbo, and  Leonard Davis.  Now the Cowboys may begin the process of revamping their secondary.

The needs for the defense will most likely be dictated by their free agent acquisitions and whether or not they lose defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to one of the many head coaching vacancies in the NFL.

Dallas Cowboys area of needs:

Primary Needs: CB, S, OG

Secondary Needs: DE, C, QB
