Mavericks get Head Above water with win over Celtics

Boston – Holding onto a 88-85 lead and with 5.1 seconds left, the Dallas Mavericks forced an errant throw in on the Boston Celtics’ last possession of the game. Jason Terry then put an exclamation on the night by dropping in a layup with the final score at 90 – 85.

Like most of the recent Dallas Boston games, the game came down to the final possessions. As the clock was running down and the game tied, Dirk Nowitzki, drove right on Kevin Garnett and finished with a layup and got the foul while sticking out his tongue as the shot went in putting the Mavericks up 88-85.

Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and the Mavericks finished strong in the fourth quarter on a night when their Head Coach Rick Carlisle was ejected in 3rd quarter.   After Carlisle’s ejection, the Mavericks went on a run and continued to fight through to the win.

On a night when the free throws weren’t going in, and the Mavericks shooting 14 of 25 Dirk was steady as always by shooting 6 of 6.

The game was a strong performance considering, it was a back to back win after last nights win over the Detroit Pistons.  The Mavericks next game will be on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
